![]() Overall, he has struggled at this stage with a 1-4 record in the fourth round at Slams. Khachanov is bidding for his second career Slam quarterfinal with the other one coming at the French Open in 2019. ![]() *This will be a first time clash between the 25-year-old Russian and 20-year-old American. He has done a nice job the last two rounds of limiting his opponents success on second serve with Evans winning just 44 percent of the points and Antoine Hoang winning just 40 percent in round two. For the tournament, Korda has 15 breaks of serve off a whopping 51 break opportunities. He broke Evans five times off of nine chances. *Defensively, Korda has done a nice job of pressuring his opponents’ serves through three rounds. He’s been getting to net regularly so far with between 20-25 percent of his points coming in that manner. Korda won points on 30/43 trips to the net. When his serve was well placed, there was plenty of first strike tennis from Korda, but he also proved very good at the net again. He played a big game with 51 winners and 43 unforced errors. Korda would save seven of ten break chances against his serve. The unseeded American finished up with 13 aces and had solid win rates of 73 and 58 percent off his two serves. *Korda is into the round of 16 at a Slam for the second time in his career after beating Dan Evans 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. I do think the Russian will need to improve his forehand return a bit as he resorted to a lot of blocking off that wing that wasn’t particularly effective. Khachanov’s backhand return was strong, providing the depth to keep Tiafoe from being too aggressive on the plus one. Tiafoe had not been broken in either of his first two matches at the All-England Club. *The Russian did good work against the Tiafoe serve as the American was broken three times off of six chances. He also finished with double digit aces (13) for the second time in three rounds. The Russian finished with 28 winners and 22 unforced errors. He finished with an 81 percent win rate on his first serve and 64 percent off his second. In fact, Khachanov did not even face a break point. The Russian was not broken on serve for the second straight match. *Khachanov surged into the fourth round at Wimbledon for the second time after taking out Frances Tiafoe in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
